This is usually activated by a thermal element, such as a fusible link, which melts at a specific temperature, allowing internal springs to shut the damper blades. By blocking the duct, these devices help maintain building integrity and buy valuable time for a safe evacuation.
In the UK, fire dampers must meet strict safety regulations and standards, such as BS 9999. Whether you are looking for hvc fire dampers for commercial systems or specialised round fire dampers for circular ducting, professional installation and maintenance are non-negotiable.
Depending on your building’s design and HVAC requirements, several types of dampers may be utilised:
- Curtain Fire Dampers: These mechanical dampers often use steel shutters that drop to obstruct the cross-sectional area of a duct during a fire.
